First load may be slow

The ffmpeg core/WASM bundle is large. After the first load, later conversions are faster.

Unlimited plan

Free tier includes 3 conversions. Unlimited is $4.99/month.

Option 1: Convert in your browser

  1. Click Choose files above (or drop your .mov file onto the box).
  2. The first run downloads the converter engine, which can take a moment. The video is then re-encoded to MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio) in your browser.
  3. Click Download MP4.

Option 2: iMovie (free from Apple)

  1. Open iMovie and create a new movie project.
  2. Import your .mov file and drag it onto the timeline.
  3. Click the Share button and choose Export File, pick a resolution and quality, then save. iMovie normally saves this as an .mp4 file.

Note: QuickTime Player’s File > Export As changes the resolution but still saves a .mov file, so it doesn’t convert to MP4.

FAQ

How long does it take?

Conversion runs on your own device, so speed depends on its processor and the video length. Short clips are quick; long or 4K videos can be slow, and very large files may run out of browser memory.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video is processed in your browser with ffmpeg.wasm and is never sent to a server.

Can I just rename .mov to .mp4?

Sometimes a renamed file plays, because both formats can hold the same video codecs, but it isn’t a real conversion and many apps and websites will reject it. Converting is more reliable.
